The main aims of our school library are to:

  • Provide opportunities for students to engage in independent and shared reading of age-appropriate texts
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs and experiences for 21st-century learners
  • Be utilised as a technology hub where students use technology as a tool for learning and information gathering
  • Provide opportunities for students to develop and apply information skills in text and digital literacy.

Our school library is resourced with texts for students including youth fiction, picture books, senior fiction and non-fiction. The library also has its own collection of PRC books labelled with stickers according to grade level. Students are given the opportunity to participate in the challenge each year. We also have student computers in the library and a computer lab further equipped with computers and laptops. We encourage all students to be safe and responsible users of technology through our digital citizenship programs.

We promote student leadership and responsibility with our library monitors who assist with basic tasks like shelving and shelf maintenance. Library bags can be purchased from the school office and are a requirement for borrowing each week.
