Wellbeing

At our school, we believe that student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included, and confident to take on new challenges. Whether your child needs support with their mental, emotional, social, or physical wellbeing, we are committed to helping them build resilience, embrace a growth mindset, and succeed both at school and in life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

Wellbeing Wednesday and Feelgood Friday

We are pleased to share that our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 have the wonderful opportunity to participate in a variety of interest groups tailored to their individual preferences and passions. These groups are designed to encourage creativity, collaboration, and personal growth beyond the regular curriculum.

For students in Years 3 to 6, 'Wellbeing Wednesdays' takes place weekly, offering a consistent and engaging space for them to focus on activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. Meanwhile, our younger students in Kindergarten to Year 2 enjoy 'Feel Good Fridays,' which runs every fortnight. This program is specially crafted to support their early development through fun, interactive activities that foster a positive school experience.

Participation in these interest groups allows students not only to explore their hobbies and talents but also to connect with teachers and peers from different grades, broadening their social networks and enhancing their sense of community within the school. At the start of each term, students select their preferred groups and commit to staying with the same activity for the entire term. This continuity helps them deepen their skills, gain confidence, and build lasting friendships in a supportive environment.

We believe these programs play a vital role in nurturing well-rounded, happy learners who are excited to come to school and engage fully with their education.

School Counselling Service
Our school counselling service provides confidential support to students facing emotional, social, or behavioural challenges. Our qualified counsellors work closely with students, families, and staff to promote mental health and wellbeing, helping students develop coping skills and build resilience. They also collaborate closely with parents to understand each child’s needs and ensure consistent support both at school and at home. Additionally, counsellors play an important role in conducting assessments to better understand students’ individual needs and guide appropriate support strategies. Whether a student is dealing with stress, anxiety, friendship issues, or learning difficulties, the counselling team offers a safe and supportive space to talk and find positive solutions. We are committed to supporting every child’s wellbeing so they can thrive both academically and personally.
Student Support Officer

Our school employs a Student Support Officer who works within the school community to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and the school counselling service. Our Student Support Officer provides individual and targeted wellbeing support and whole of school wellbeing initiatives and programs that are evidence-based. They have a pivotal role in working collaboratively with external agencies and creating referral pathways for students and families to child and family support agencies.
